2021 Reserve Pinot Noir
This 2021 Reserve hails from Solomon Hills Vineyard, and you can really sense the maritime influence in this delicate expression of Pinot Noir. The body is light, with a bright vermillion shine, and the aroma is earthy with faint floral scents of roses, violets and freshly picked cherries. Flavors of ripe red raspberries and cherries are well defined, with secondary flavors of mushroom, vanilla and baking spice from the new French oak. Pair this elegant beauty with a mushroom risotto or a classic duck confit.
A perfect example of California fruit shining through a Burgundian style wine. It is easy to notice a light body and a flinty, floral nose right off the bat, but upon further investigation, this wine develops into a surprisingly complex bouquet of tangy red fruit flavors like cherries, strawberries and raspberries, complemented by cedar and spice notes from the full new oak exposure.
